M1 Audit your reach Know what you actually have before you sell it. · Badge: Audit Brands pay for attention, not follower counts. Note your typical views per post, watch time, saves, shares and comments for the last month. Per post: (likes + comments + shares + saves) ÷ followers × 100. Average your last 10–20 posts. Some brands divide by reach or views instead, so know both numbers. From each platform's analytics, write down top countries, cities, age bands, gender split and languages. This becomes the heart of your media kit. Platforms monetise differently: long-form video often earns ad revenue share, short-form usually earns through brand deals, newsletters and podcasts through sponsors and subscriptions. Pick the one where your audience is deepest. M2 The revenue map Seven ways creators earn, and which to start with. · Badge: Streams Ad revenue sharing and bonus programmes. Eligibility thresholds change often, so read the platform's official creator help pages for the current rules before planning around them. Paid posts, integrations inside your content, and longer ambassador deals. Usually the largest income source for small and mid-size creators. Earn a percentage when followers buy through your link. Works well for reviews, tech, beauty, books and education. Courses, templates, e-books, merchandise, a paid community or monthly membership. You keep control of pricing and the customer relationship. Make content for brands' own channels (UGC), consult, run workshops, speak at events, or license your clips to media and brands. A practical rule: pair one stream you control (a product or service) with one from platforms or brands, so an algorithm change can't cut all income at once. M3 Price your work Build a rate card you can defend. · Badge: Pricing Price each format separately: a short video, a long-video integration, a story set, a static post, a live session, a newsletter slot. A common method: expected views ÷ 1,000 × a CPM you research for your niche and market, then adjust for production effort. Rates vary widely by niche and country, so there is no universal number. Usage rights (the brand running your content as ads), exclusivity (no competitors for a set period), rush timelines and raw footage are all priced on top. Ask for part of the fee in advance, send a proper invoice, agree a payment date, and include a cancellation fee if the brand pulls out late. M4 Media kit and pitching Get brands to say yes. · Badge: Pitch Who you are, niche, audience numbers and demographics, engagement, past brand work with results, rate card or 'rates on request', and contact. Your Creator Pass link is a good start. Look at who already sponsors creators in your field. Use the directory's field filters to see your peers. Who you are; who your audience is; one specific content idea for their product; one proof point; a clear ask with dates. Follow up once after about a week. Keep every pitch in a simple sheet: brand, contact, date, status, fee. M5 Contracts, disclosure and tax Protect yourself as income grows. · Badge: Legal Check deliverables, number of revision rounds, usage period, exclusivity, payment date and cancellation terms before you sign. Advertising rules require clear disclosure: ASCI guidelines in India, the FTC Endorsement Guides in the US, the ASA/CAP Code in the UK. Use the platform's paid-partnership label as well. Brand fees and often gifted products count as income. In India, TDS under Section 194R can apply to benefits given to influencers. Confirm your obligations with a chartered accountant or tax adviser in your country. Store contracts, invoices, payment receipts and a list of gifted products in one folder from day one. M6 Grow and diversify Turn one-off deals into a career. · Badge: Growth Partner with creators in adjacent fields to reach new audiences. The collab board is built for this. One idea can become a long video, three short clips, a carousel and a newsletter. More formats, same effort. Build an email list or community you control. Platform algorithms change; a direct line to your audience doesn't. Once a month, log your reach in your Hub, note what earned money and what took time without paying back. Drop one thing, double down on one. M7 Credentials pathwayPlanned Programmes we are building. · Badge: Path Storytelling, personal branding, marketing, negotiation and audience strategy, taught by working creators and marketers. Short courses and degrees in creator marketing and media with universities abroad. Partners have not been announced yet. A short residential experience (around two weeks) on a partner campus, to give creators a taste of college life. Tick 'Academy interest' on your pass so the team can reach you when intakes open.
